93 villages in Mbeere North benefit from campaign to promote use of toilets

93 villages in Mbeere North sub county have benefited from a campaign to stop open defecation in households that have no toilets. The residents in these villages now have a lower risk of contracting waterborne diseases such as cholera and typhoid. The program targeted households that did not have latrines at all. Speaking during World Toilet Day and Hand Washing Day, Embu County Health Director Stephen Kaniaru confirmed that over 200 villagers had been sensitized on matters hygiene.
