NEC Engineeringの「SmartLocator」は赤外線を利用した屋内位置管理システムです。

壁や天井を透過せず金属製の機械や什器などの周辺環境の影響を受けにくい赤外線通信の特長を活かして、天井に設置したID発信機が位置IDを赤外線信号で発信し、ID受信機付きモバイル端末がその信号を受信、モバイル端末が位置IDを無線LAN経由で位置管理サーバに送信することでモバイル端末の位置を高精度に特定・管理します。
