A British train station named the quietest in the UK gets a regular spruce up from its local station adopters.

Shippea Hill train station in East Cambridgeshire was used by just 12 people between 2015 and 2016 and travellers wishing to get off at the stop must make a request for the train to stop there.

Although hardly used, the 170 year-old station needs at bit of love and attention now and again and that’s where Harry Lamboll and Adam Head, come in.

The pair are known as station adopters and it is down to them to make sure the stop stays nice and tidy. Since March 2015 both Harry, 22, and Adam have worked with Greater Anglia to make the station more welcoming by tending to the shrubbery and cleaning the platform as well as other jobs.
