Madaraka day marked against a number of pending matters among citizens

Contrary to last year's Madaraka day celebrations in the counties where a low-turn characterized the festivities in many parts of the country, this year, Kenyans came out in their numbers to listen to the president's speech, that was read out by county commissioners in the presence of area politicians.

And despite the unity calls, this year's celebrations were marked against a number of unresolved issues.  Daniel Mule breaks them down by the county.
