BREAKING NEWS: French arms company charged alongside Zuma files papers

French arms manufacturer Thales, which has been charged alongside former president Jacob Zuma in his corruption case, has filed papers seeking a permanent stay of prosecution. The company is challenging the validity of prosecution, the unreasonable delay and the evidence against it. It says the reinstitution of charges holds no validity because criminal charges against the company were withdrawn in 2009. It says this action was not challenged or set aside by any court. Meanwhile, Zuma is expected to file a similar application today. Last week the High Court in Pretoria ruled that Zuma must personally pay his legal costs for various criminal and civil cases against him. For more news, visit: sabcnews.com
