S'pore PM: Kim, Trump Meeting "Very Important" For The Region

The upcoming summit between the leaders of North Korea and the U.S. is an event which could potentially affect not just Asia but in fact, the whole world. According to Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, the important meeting has the potential to set the development of the region's security on a new path. Lee was speaking as Singapore prepared itself to host a historic summit between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Donald Trump, set to be held on June 12. Meanwhile, Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement said the two leaders also discussed relations between the two countries, developments in North Korea and the region, including recent positive developments on the Korean Peninsula. Lee also wished Kim success for the summit, and expressed hope that it would help along prospects for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and the wider region.
