Air Warriors of Indian Air Force perform parade with skillful rifle movements

Indian Air Force today held an awareness drive here and displayed a range of activities with an aim to inspire youths to join the defence arm.

The event saw para-sailing, powered-hang gliding and slithering operation by special Garud forces to highlight the adventurous life that IAF offers.

"IAF carried out a massive awareness drive at GMDC Ground to motivate the youth to accept the challenging career opportunities available in the foce," said Defence PRO Wing Commander Abhishek Matiman.

"Activities like static display, para-sailing, powered hang gliding, slithering operation by the special Garud forces were displayed during the rive," he said.

A synchronised weapons drill by a group of air- warriors were also shown. In the static display, models of three surface-to-air missiles, including anti-aircraft missile 'Pechhora', were put for display for the general public.

Four such special drives had been carried out by IAF in Vadodara, Jamnagar and Bhuj since November last year.

The idea of organising such a drive was conceived after a meeting between Gujarat Chief Minister Anandi Patel and then Air Officer in Commanding of South Western Air Command Air Marshal Daljit Singh, said Matiman.
