My mom called around 3:00 PM and told me to go out and see the clouds. I drove to my typical viewing spot and sure enough the eastern sky was full of growing towers. I got a really nice hour long time-lapse of the growing cumulus congestus and cumulonimbus clouds moving across the eastern sky between 30 and 80 miles away. Later that evening a weakly rotating LP storm grazed by to the north. It produced a really nice curved orphan flanking line with interesting texture underneath. The original storm was in the process of drying up as the updraft was pretty much kaput. Around 9:30 PM another weakly rotating storm moved through with noisy thunder. Unfortunately I was visiting my parents and there isn't much of a view at their house due to being in the forest. The quiet location is great for thunder recording though. I got a really loud delicious thunderclap at the very end of the video if you wait for it. As always, be sure to turn up the volume!
