On the 28th of April, 2006, at the Embedded Systems Expo, Hitachi displayed the UltraPLC (Power Line Communication) system. The UltraPLC transforms the electrical wiring of a home into a computer network. This technology is ideal for home automation and security as it requires no installation of additional wiring and consumes less power than competing technologies.
