Warisan Vp's Remand Extended To Friday

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has secured a four-day extension for the remand on Parti Warisan Sabah's vice president, Datuk Peter Anthony. The remand extension, from tomorrow untill Friday, against Datuk Peter was granted by Magistrate Stephenie Sherron Abbie to facilitate investigations into a dubious RM155 million land deal in the state. The 46-year-old politician was detained last Friday after providing a statement to the graft buster and was remanded for three days until Monday. He is being investigated under the MACC Act for accepting a bribe. Last week, the commission announced that they were looking for Datuk Peter and 61-year-old Michael Persius Ubu to facilitate an investigation into the purchase of the land in Tongod district between 2015 and 2016. Datuk Peter was among 13 people remanded by the MACC previously, to facilitate another probe into the misappropriation of rural project funds for Sabah.
