Yuchanglou has pillars that angle on the 3rd and 5th floors which is why it is called the "Leaning Tulou." This five-story structure is located in Xiaban Village and built in 1308. Just follow the tour groups on the path along the river and you can't miss stunning Yuchanglou.

Yuchanglou had an observation tower for the Hakkas to watch for bandits along with narrow windows on the upper levels that made it impossible for intruders to enter. The first level is for kitchen and living room. The second level is the barns to store goods and grains. And, the third to fifth levels are the bedrooms for approximately the 100 families that still live here.
