Man sentenced to federal prison in connection to deadly overdose

KENTON COUNTY, Ky. (WKRC) - A local man will head to federal prison for supplying drugs to a woman who died in the Kenton County Jail.

A judge sentenced Michael Howard to 26 years in prison. He pleaded guilty to distributing fentanyl and morphine that led to the overdose of Jamie Green. Authorities said Green was getting heroin for several months while in the Campbell Jail, then later the Kenton County Jail.

Earlier in the year, Green's mother Kimberly Mullins was sentenced to 18 years in prison after admitting she arranged to deliver the heroin to her daughter.
