Lady Frere rape victim's mother welcomes 30 year sentences

The mother of a 28-year-old woman who was raped at a village outside Lady Frere in the Eastern Cape, is satisfied with the 30 year sentences handed down to two men convicted of the rape by the Mthatha High court, sitting at Lady Frere. Five years of their sentences have been suspended. Three men took turns, in raping the victim last year at an unoccupied house, while under the influence of alcohol. The mother of the victim walked into the house at the time, stabbing all three perpetrators. One of them died at the scene from the stab wounds. For more news, visit: sabcnews.com
