The trend of commercialization of agriculture of small holder production is transforming livelihoods in the Island district of Kalangala. Having encountered opposition at its initial stage, oil palm growing is quickly being embraced as alternative source of income among residents of Bugala Island in kalangala district, most of the residents of the Lake Victoria Island district, had for decades relied entirely on fishing to make ends meet.
