Traders demonstrate against demolition of stalls in Fedha estate, Nairobi

Traders in Nairobi's Fedha Estate on the eastern side of the capital city this morning staged demonstrations against the demolition of stalls that caught them unawares. The traders say they had not been served with any notice on eviction. they engaged the county's enforcement unit in running battles along outer ring road and chased county officers from the site of the demolition. They say they were licensed and had business permits and that their presence there was legal. they have now resolved to sue the county government over the demolitions which have destroyed their sources of livelihood.
