ICERD: Govt Assures Article 153 Will Not Be Abolished

The government told the August House today that it is in no hurry to ratify the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD). It also gave its assurance that it will not abolish Article 153 of the Federal Constitution if it ratifies the ICERD.
