Trance dance, also known as Zar or Zaar, is one of the oldest healing rituals in the world and today. Zar dance was intended to obtain a spiritual wholeness in the past and is still the case today. The goal of Zar dance rituals is to exercise evil spirits from the body to heal illness. In order to achieve the trance like state of Zar, the rhythm (typically Ayoub rhythm) begins slowly and then builds up to a fast climax. The Zar dance will evoke a feeling of exhilaration of the body, mind and spirit. It is a unique experience exploring the ancient traditions of soulful rhythms and ancient melodies. This dance will surly unite your body into a mystical harmony of well-being!
