DigInfo: http://movie.diginfo.tv - Now it is possible to predict an earthquake beforehand. ASU-QUICK, developed by ASTOM, can estimate and predict the epicenter, initiation time, and magnitude of an earthquake, using P wave data gathered at a seismic station near the epicenter. The system was installed on a test basis in February 2004, and has been in use since August 2006 at some factories, where it is necessary to control machines accurately. This September, the system is expected to be available in various environments.
