(12 Nov 2018) France's President Emmanuel Macron announced on Monday that Facebook will work with French regulators in 2019 to fight hate speech. Speaking at the Internet Governance Forum organised at the Paris-based UN cultural agency UNESCO, Macron said the goal is to "elaborate precise, concrete joint proposals about the fight against hate speech and offensive content". Macron added it was a "very innovative experimental move".
