In Terengganu, a single mother was sentenced to six months jail and caning by the Kuala Terengganu Syariah High Court for prostitution today.

The 30-year-old woman, who committed the offence in a hotel room in the district two weeks ago will receive six strokes of rotan, as provided under the state's Syariah law.
