I have hired and fired a lot of people.  

Throughout this process I have learned so much.  I have made mistakes, but I have also done a lot of things right. 

Taking on people that aren't a good fit for your organization can be exhausting.  You end up taking on so much emotional baggage.  

Being good at firing people isn't about being quick to the punch.  It means you do it with dignity and grace and love and you do it when you know you should and you don't prolong it. 

The responsibility for this decision is important. It is important for your organization and it is important for the person.
