Educators at The College of St. Rose were struggling to find the right methods to address common classroom issues such as instructors missing class due to illness, weather, or plain bad-luck. As unpredictable as life could be, there needed to be a way to consistently communicate with students regardless of life's twists and turns. The College of St. Rose is a private, independent university, located in Albany, New York, known for its progressive academic programs and technological integration. Christine Paige is the manager of technology integration and Resource Center at The College of St. Rose. As an educational technologist, Christine is responsible for integrating technology into the classrooms of faculty members. TechSmith Relay and Camtasia Studio allowed the faculty of The College of St. Rose to record exercises for students to watch at home on their own time, giving them the ability to go back and re-watch parts that confused them.
