The stance or body posture of T’ai Chi is important for promoting energetic and health benefits. It begins with a relaxed posture, shoulder-width stance, hips tucked under, straight spine, shoulders down and head up as if suspended or dangling from a string. Combined with the breath, this is proper way to begin the T’ai Chi form. It is best if your awareness is focused on the body and its movements. Being present and aware of your body and your breath will give you the most out of your T’ai Chi experience. *************************** Dr. Kurt Beil is a Naturopathic Doctor and Licensed Acupuncturist with a Masters in Public Health (ND, LAc, MPH).
