During the vietnam war saigon was the center of a terrible war between the United States and freedom forces of Vietnam. 

There are more than 250 km tunnels outside Saigon Ho chi Minh city one can visit. 

There is also a war museum in Saigon that can be visited and hundreds if not thousands relics of the war can be seen on display, including U.S. fighter planes, rockets, tanks, helicopters, etc.
