This occurred the day after the infamous Dexter MI tornado. I've never seen such a clear and frequent display of cloud-to-air lighting from an isolated cell like this. This is a very nice example of a multi-cell "pulse severe" storm that produced severe criteria hail despite a lack of any real organization. There was almost zero shear this day, but around 3000 J/kg of SBCAPE which is extremely impressive for March. With the lack of vertical wind shear, powerful updraft pulses shot straight up. Skip to 4:25 to see a brief time-lapse of the whole event plus a slow motion review of the best lightning.
