The Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said the easing of Korean Peninsula tensions should be treasured. He made the remarks as he wrapped up his trip to Africa, saying both the DPRK and South Korea have made positive efforts.

He referred to the history, adding that there has been interference or even pushing backward on purpose whenever the tension eased. The foreign minister said now is the time to test the sincerity of all sides. The international community should look and see who is pushing for a peaceful solution and denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, and who will be pushing the situation back towards tensions, he added.
