I am testing the wings for this mini gen kit from windstuffnow.com. The airfoil type wing was not spinning until I added the aluminum flashing at the leading edge. The voltage of the generator only went up to 5 volts. Handspinning the single coil alternator gives me at least 20 volts. The wing is approx. 20 in high by 7 inch. The diameter is about 22 inches. I have to downsize the wings to speed up the rpm. It's a fun project. A difference of one or two degrees in the positioning of the wings determines whether it'll spin or not. I made the wings bigger so I can trim it down to size as I go along. More experimentation to come.
