Once in a Lifetime Gala held at Duke Energy Center

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Nine hundred people gathered at the Duke Energy Center's grand ballroom for the Once in a Lifetime Gala Saturday night.

The non-profit The Cure Starts Now Foundation hosted the event.

The theme was "Alice in Wonderland".

All proceeds benefit cancer research through the foundation.

"The goal is to try not only to raise awareness for pediatric brain cancer but also be able to find it," said Keith Desserich, co-founder of The Cure Starts Now. "Because at the end of the day if you don't find a cure we're not doing anything more than talking about it and we want to make a difference."

The gala included a silent auction and a VIP afterparty.

This was the 11th year for the event.
