The Non-diagnostic Linear Malfunction Drill is designed to empower students to solve problems most commonly encountered with a semi-automatic pistol as efficiently as possible in the context of a fight. Here, students are running a drill blinded in order to gain confidence in the methodology and their own ability to work through the problem without looking at the gun... in the dark, in a fight, etc.. The NDLMD allows a student to solve or identify the problems based on probability and limited cognitive processing. Of course, these students had demonstrated competency in the physical skills prior to this drill and they each have their own safety spotter in addition to the lead instructor positioned between them. This was taped during a Combat Focus Shooting & Adv. Pistol Handling course in May 2010. The NDLMD is: -Tap-Rack -Reload -Complex Reload (Rip (or Lock & Remove), Clear, Reload)
