Training Footage from 2010 Bands from the bottom are a great way to develop lockout strength. The bands actually pull the weight towards the ground creating an unstable load. The bands force the lifter to be fast because of the lifter raises the weight the tension increases. Typically when using heavy band tension it is not as important to go full range because the purpose is to feel an extremely heavy weight at the top of the movement. Bands can be certainly used for other applications such as speed work as well. I personally could have a much tighter arch and open up my knees a lot more and this would help me get better depth as well as keep me in a better position to drive the weight of fast. I am blessed that I am surrounded by great training partners and lifters at my gym and I would like to thank them for all of their help with my training.
