(26 Dec 2003) STORY While many in New York spend December 25th celebrating Christmas day, if you don't celebrate the holiday it's easy to feel left out in the cold. This year the city's Jewish community decided to break with tradition and came together on the city's Upper West Side to celebrate film director Woody Allen and Chinese food. More than 100 people met at the Makor Cafe, a Jewish cultural centre to take part in the their first annual "Christmas Day Woody Fest." The cafe provided a range of kosher Chinese food and screened three Woody Allen movies, "Love and Death", "Annie Hall" and "Sleeper" for the audience. Those attending the event responded enthusiastically to the new celebration, with some even saying it was their best Christmas ever. As the options are limited for those not celebrating the holiday in New York, the "Christmas Day Woody Fest" could become a permanent fixture in the city.
