SANMEI, which is headquartered in Shizuoka and manufactures factory automation mechatronics such as AC servo robot systems, exhibited an entirely new stepping motor system, the "Si Servo", at the 2008 International Nanotechnology Exhibition & Conference (Nano Tech 2008). The patented Si Servo is equipped with an encoder and memory device behind the motor. Based on current feedback and encoder position information with a resolution of 400 pulses per rotation and using data specific to each motor which is stored in memory when shipped from the plant, the Si Servo can execute high speed, high precision positioning to the target position using a database compensation type control method for compensation and control when the motor is activated. SANMEI intends to introduce various machines equipped with this Si Servo motor system.
