Remand For Cradle CEO’s Wife Extended Three Days

The Magistrate’s Court in Petaling Jaya has granted a three day extension for the remand of Samirah Muzaffar, the wife of Cradle Fund CEO Nazrin Hassan. 43-year-old Samirah, who was initially remanded for seven days as part of the murder investigation into her husband's death, arrived at the court at noon today, with her lawyer. Samirah’s two teenage sons were detained as well after it was revealed that Nazrin, aged 45, had apparently suffered a puncture wound to his head believed to be caused by an archery arrow. Nazrin was found dead after being trapped in a fire on the upper floor of his house in Mutiara Damansara on June 14th, with burn marks on 30 percent of his body. Police reclassified the probe as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code, following a forensic investigation report by the Fire and Rescue Department, which cited suspected foul play in the death.
