Interlacing artifacts due to wrong set scan mode in H.264/AVC by NIST have been mostly repaired. The NIST encoding was set on progressive mode instead on interlace coding. Video then has been and gamma-aware resized to 720p by keeping the original display aspect ratio of 4:3.
