Cutting of samples for metallurgical analyses from a small fraction of WTC steel, mostly perimeter wall material from WTC 1 & 2, recovered at scrap yards in New Jersey.

Tape 1 of released 3.

Recorded in April 2002 (18:37 & 28:40). NIST campus in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Enhanced poor quality video, originally encoded by Cinepak video codec at NIST.
Tape was split in three parts by NIST, re-joined them here. Decompressed and temporarily encoded by a lossless video codec. Interlaced source was erroneously encoded in progressive scan (often seen at NIST's own encodings), this error was repaired as much as possible. Frame rate of 14.985 fps increased to 29.97 fps (NTSC SD standard) by keeping the audio synch. Video deblocked and frame size upscaled to 720p standard by keeping the as-released display aspect ratio of 4:3 (640 x 480 pixels).
Re-encoded to AVI fromat by H.264/AVC-1 video codec before upload on YouTube.
