This presentation gives an update on the development and implementation of the Super Air Meter (SAM). The SAM is a new AASHTO test method (AASHTO TP118) that can measure the bubble size and spacing within concrete before it has hardened. This can help improve the freeze thaw durability of concrete and extend the service life. The SAM was developed at Oklahoma State University and is used in four countries and 35 states in the US.
