It's all about the Darkstalkers in this video, something I should've done a loooong time ago.
This request comes from HiroofElements, a man who knows his Darkstalkers. He wanted me to fight one of his favorite Darkstalkers characters with my favorite Darkstalkers character - a "Good old DS rumble" as he put it - and just like that, the stage was set.

With the AI patch equipped, Donovan becomes a lot more careful.

He's not really a combo-oriented character despite his source game; he's got a few, but for the most part he keeps a solid defense while his opponent tries to worm their way in. This can prove to be quite a challenge with some characters since his normals have good range, with AND without his sword, and his specials and supers are pretty much a giant "KEEP OUT' sign. If you're overly aggressive, you're gonna get hurt, over and over and over again, in the same way.

Fortunately Cafe knew this, and made Donovan's patch accordingly. Unless you're in the corner, he won't bother trying to get in your face, because chances are you'll be the one coming to him. He'll sit on the other side of the screen and just be an ass with his Killshred special move. He'll stab the sword into the ground, and it'll reappear in different areas of the stage, usually right under him. From there he can either send it flying towards you (his usual plan of action), or he can summon lightning to hit it if you try to rush in on him, in an effort to catch you off guard.

Donovan's pretty fun to fight against. Not "I have to spam the same attacks over and over to win!" hard, but not easy either.
The only crazy thing about him is that he'll tech hit EVERYTHING you throw at him, and it sends you all the way to the other side of the screen. That last bit's more of a coding fault with the actual character than the patch, but damn, dude loves to tech. Couple that with Killshred and long-range normals...I hope you're using a character that can dash.
