I know a lot of you were STOKED when Adam Lambert's second album finally came out, and as a result of your fan loyalty, Adam was able to set a new record!
Bilboard Magazine is reporting that he's the first openly gay artist to debut in the number 1 spot of both the Billboard 200 and digital albums charts—artists like Elton John and George Michael, who are famously out of the closet now, have previously hit #1, but it was before they were out, and haven't done it since.
Trespassing sold 77,000 copies in its first week, knocking his fellow Idol pal Carrie Underwood's album from number 1 to number 3.
And speaking of Idol, Adam is now the 7th alum to reach the top of the charts, right up there with Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Clay Aiken, Chris Daughtry, and Scotty McCreery.
