Jobmatching PTPTN: Only 1,340 Registered So Far

Over 300,000 loan defaulters can no longer use "being unemployed," as an excuse not to repay their PTPTN study loans. The National Higher Education Fund Corporation has introduced a new job seeking platform, the JobMatching PTPTN, just for them. (Soundbite of Mastura Mohd Khalid / Deputy Ceo (Policy & Operations), PTPTN Subtitles: There are over 300,000 borrowers who have not made any repayments, so far. Normally, among the complaints received will be either they don't have a job or the job they have are not on par to their education level. For example, they have a PTPTN loan for a degree programme, but they are working using their SPM certificate.) (Subtitles: Once they have a job, they must pay back their loans. They can do that in two forms, either via salary deduction from employers or fixed payment through auto-debit or direct debit. We hope that since we've helped them with securing employment, they will in turn help PTPTN, so that we can help other students in the future. It has been our intention for them to make the loan repayments when they have a job.)
