The 485 was Goodell Pratt's smallest "toolbox" grinder, meant to be carried to the job site. Yet this beast weighs just shy of 11 lbs! With a crazy 22:1 gear ratio it approaches electric grinder speeds with very little effort. It's almost effortless to turn. In these videos I'm only using my thumb and finger to spin the crank. The original grinding wheel was broken in shipping and all I had was this old freebie wheel but it needs dressing and causes a slight wobble and vibration. The machine itself runs true.
