Veterans honored at ceremony in Blue Ash

BLUE ASH, Ohio (WKRC) - One of the largest Veterans Day ceremonies in southwest Ohio took play on Sunday morning in Blue Ash.

Veterans groups from the Tri-State took part in the ceremony at the Blue Ash Bicentennial Veterans Memorial Park.

The ceremony included a performance from the Ohio Military Band, wreath laying, and writings from local students.

The keynote speaker was Col. Paul W. Fellinger, Jr., who served with the United States Army for more than 25 years.

"It's no big deal until you find out you can't breathe," Col. Fellinger said. "And all of a sudden it means something. Freedom is a lot like that. The fact many of you have given us the ability to breathe, have given us that freedom is absolutely incredible."

Col. Fellinger said that when people say 'thank you for your service,' it means a lot to a veteran.
