This is a good example of how not to ride a scooter/moped thing.

The corner is quite dangerous because lunatics drive round too fast and usually in the middle of the road. I engaged it at a sensible speed and kept to my side of the road to make sure I was in the best position to deal with a nutter coming the other way.

I was surprised when a scooter came round the corner and cut straight across me to get onto his drive. No indicators, poor road position and a clear assumption nothing would be coming the other way.

He was very, very lucky I wasn't going 2mph faster or his head would have been bouncing off my bonnet with his broken legs following close behind.

If you've got kids riding these things then please make sure they aren't putting their lives at risk thinking they are invincible. They've lost any chance of looking cool the moment they step on one of the little contraptions so they might as well concentrate on being safe.
