Ademo Freeman Habeas Petition Update - August 1, 2012

I called the Manchester superior court last week and spoke to a clerk named Diane; I wanted to know if a hearing had been set for my petition for habeas corpus.  She told me the petition was sent back.  I asked why and she told me because I was not a lawyer.  I pointed out I've done it before and there is no requirement to be a member of the bar cult.  She also stated there was a new superintendent of corrections.

So, I had to re-do the petition, even though the petition is against the "office" of the superintendent, not just the individual currently holding the office, and resend it to the clerk.  Diane was very surprised to hear you don't need to be an attorney to file a habeas petition for someone.  Unfortunately Ademo is the one paying for her ignorance.

What's disturbing is how procedure, again, incorrect procedure, is put before a man's freedom.  This is not a small claim or a killer we're dealing with here.  Ademo is a peaceful man who has not been accused of hurting anyone.

But that is legal land; it's not about justice, it's about control.  Ademo has an August 6, 2012 jury selection date for the wiretapping charges he's also facing in Manchester; that's only 5 days away.  Hopefully my petition is not delayed and then mooted because of a conviction on the wiretapping.  It certainly is possible for these predators to pull something like that.

If that happens, then I'll have to file a petition for habeas corpus for that conviction. http://marcstevens.net
