HE Ms. Nirupama Rao, Ambassador, Embassy of India to USA, delivers the Welcome Address at the Inaugural session of the 4th U.S.-India Energy Partnership Summit. Co-convened by TERI North America and Yale University, the Summit was held during 13-14 May, 2013 in Washington, D.C. U.S. and Indian overall strategic interests have been steadily converging for a number of years now. This, along with deep-seated commonalities between both nations, has driven greater cooperation on a multitude of topics - especially energy. Similarly, collaboration between U.S. and Indian businesses has been on the rise. If we can capitalize on the alignment between U.S.-India strategic interests and the business priorities of U.S. and Indian companies, then we stand to unleash a new wave of productive efforts to enhance energy security, expand energy access and drive energy innovation. This will speed up human development and leave both nations better off.
