Another enjoyable visit with Gracie and her little one. Gracie only wants to hold hands and be hand fed and tells us to skip the pleasantries of being touched on the head. She has days where she prefers being touched on her own terms and that's acceptably fine by us. Some questions we get often on our videos: - What does raccoon fur feel like: fur of a husky dog in texture and thickness - What does a raccoon nose feel like: quite similar to any medium sized dog; sometimes wet and sometimes dry - What does a raccoon paw feel like? Young paws will feel similar to human palms whereas adults who have experienced life will feel calloused and yet also still soft to the touch. - What does a raccoon tongue feel like: very similar to dogs which is silky soft and warm - How can we identify our raccoons apart? NOTE: Our rescue raccoons resides in a region where there hasn't been a case of raccoon rabies for over three decades which is tracked by the local public health department. We are fortunate to be able to observe and professional work with a variety of wildlife species since we reside next to a protected wildlife preserve. Our rescue raccoons lounge and play on our terrace as well as use it as a thoroughfare. No children nor pets are ever harmed, especially the wild animals captured in these videos.
