Political leaders from Mandera county, and under the Economic Freedom Party, now accuse jubilee party of tampering with the voter register, after it emerged that names of 50,000 voters were missing from the voter register. they claim the ruling party was collaborating with the iebc to disenfranchise their voters. the leaders had filed a case in court against the iebc, seeking an explanation from the electoral body after the 50,000 names were found missing at the end of the voter verification exercise. the economic freedom party, that had endorsed president uhuru kenyatta's re-election has now threatened to review its relationship with the ruling party over these claims. the launch of this political party was set to frame the battle for the county leadership to be between those for and against negotiated democracy. the council of elders had identified former Rift Valley provincial Commissioner Hassan Noor Hassan to run against jubilee's Governor Ali Roba, who has vowed to defend his seat against the wishes of the powerful council.
