Today we'll give you some of our best IELTS timing insight and strategies! Come back to ielts.allearsenglish.com for more We'll show you why speed can hurt your score and what you should do instead to manage your time. On the Speaking test sometimes candidates want to prove that they can understand the examiner so they answer right away. Sometimes they don't even let the examiner finish his or her question. That's rude! Also if you don't listen to the whole question you might answer it incorrectly because you don't know the question. So let the examiner finish the question and then begin. Also, on test day, try to slow down a bit. Don't speak too quickly. It can impact your pronunciation. It can make you disorganized and will put you off topic. Slowing down will help you with your fluency and coherence, vocabulary, and pronunciation on the Speaking test. Also on the Listening test, don't mark the first answer you hear and go to the next question immediately. IELTS likes to trick you- sometimes the correct answer comes after the wrong answer. Be on the lookout for negative words like "but!" "Oh" "wait" or "no!" because that means what you have heard is not the real answer and you will hear the correct answer next.
