Nineteen suspects are expected to appear in the Verulam Magistrate's Court, north of Durban, this morning. They were arrested earlier this month, for their alleged involvement in the Verulam mosque attack, as well as bomb scares at various KwaZulu-Natal malls since May this year. Father of two Abbas Essop was killed in the attack. The media and family have been temporarily barred from the court proceedings. The suspects whose nationalities and gender have not yet been disclosed to the media, face a range of charges. They include murder, attempted murder, offences related to explosives devices, arson, extortion and terrorism. For more on the story, we cross to our reporter, Sbongakonke Mbatha who is at court.
