“Another Nguyen is an independent singer and songwriter based in Berlin. She was born to Vietnamese parents and grew up in a small German town with less than 1000 people. From an early age on she loved to sing and listen to artists such as Norah Jones, Katie Melua and Natasha Bedingfield. After graduating from high school she spent one year living in Vietnam wanting to follow her roots and understanding of her family history.

Following up Another Nguyen moved to the German capital to study social work and engage in community-based work. While doing so, fascinated by the human voice and vocal harmonies she spent many years singing in different choirs and a cappella projects such as the Los Angeles based group Top Shelf Vocal. It was during her year of studying abroad in California that she came to understand her strong desire of finding her own voice and telling her own stories as a performing artist.

She then started to write personal and conversational songs inspired by people she’s met along her way. Melancholic, yet hopeful, light-hearted yet thoughtful her music reflects on encounters, desires and longings of everyday life.”

I met this lovely, super sweet artist when I was on a school trip in Germany. I remember I had just finished eating my currywurst (cliché) when I heard someone singing and playing the piano. Another Nguyen is one of the rare artists that makes you feel instantly better after listening to them. They immediately brighten your day and give you so much hope. Her songs are very inspiring and uplifting and I love the ironic originality of her stage name!

Sitting on the rooftop
Watching the night go by
And I forget about the sunrise
As I look into your eyes

You carry me effortlessly,
Hold me in your embrace
But you got your life stacked in a backpack
Every day ‘cause you’re not here to stay

But I fantasize ocean-size
And dream of picture perfect lives
And I realize

That we landed ourselves in this storybook romance
Like a movie scene set in reality
And I hold on to the belief
One day you’ll find your way

Back to me, back to me
Back to me, back to me

Few more days to go
‘Til you’ll hit the road to self discovery
And I’ll stay with the memories we made
And the love we left unsaid

I will I fantasize ocean-size
And dream of picture perfect lives

‘Cause we landed ourselves in this storybook romance
Like a movie scene set in reality
And I hold on to the belief
That one day you’ll find your way

Back to me, back to me
Back to me, back to me

And they say that you can’t control a traveler’s soul
Like the forces of mother nature
He’s not meant to be contained

Back to me, back to me
Back to me, back to me
(‘Cause we landed ourselves in this storybook romance
Like a movie scene set in reality)
