Just to further reiderate the redundancy of explaining the plot of Sailor Moon need only look at the back cover of the SM volumes. There is no synopsis of any kind. There is only another graphic of the SM characters. Kodansha Comics was like ,"Screw you. If you don't know what SM is ask someone because were not about to explain it." SM is seriously the girl equivilant of Dragonball Z. I would put money down that there isn't a single woman in their early to mid-twenties that doesn't know or at the very least heard of Sailor Moon it permeated the girl demographic that much. It's was sorta a perfect storm too. America was going nuts about power rangers and someone thought, "Hey, there's this show that's like power rangers but it's for girls." and things went from there.
